Name: | Grimes Creek - Centerville - Idaho City loop |
|
Description: | Another loop in the mountains north of Boise, this time on the tandem . We started at the confluence of Grimes and Mores Creek and rode up the road to Centerville. The surface was well packed dirt, but, it was fairly busy with campers and some sort of festival at the largest meadow in the valley, so, we got our share of dust. Surprisingly, the road in the Centerville area was paved. We rode around and looked for the town but there was not much, just some houses here and there. So, we took off for the climb to Idaho City. The road soon turned back to dirt and climbed a bit more than I expected. It was quite hot when we got to Idaho City so we stopped to have some ice cream. Then we went down Hwy 21 back to the case, which was a reasonably pleasant ride as the road was slightly downhill so we could go fast. | |
