Name:South Ridge and Telegraph Canyon, Chino Hills State Park
Description:First ride in Chino Hills a day after rains was not too pleasant. The guide in Mountain Bike Southern California recommends to start near South Ridge trail in Yorba Linda neighborhood. We instead looked for direct access to Telegraph Canyon for an easier start, and finally found it in the town of Brea near Carbon Canyon county park. Ride up lower part of Telegraph Canyon was good, South Ridge was muddy at parts, but overall pretty dry. The disaster struck when descending back to Telegraph canyon. The dirt road there was quite muddy, the mud very sticky, so I ended up walking downcanyon few hundred meters (the bike being twice as heavy with all the mud) till it was rideable again. Then rode down back to trailhead. Did not even try the famous Raptor Ridge - another time.
