Professional Interests

I am currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, with an emphasis on Atmospheric & Environmental Science. I joined Dr. Hallar's research group as an undergraduate research assistant in my junior year after listening to her guest lecture during a class. Through my time in the HART group, I learned how to use the Aerodynamic Particle Sizer (APS) to measure coarse-mode particle number concentration and aerosol size distribution.

Currently, I am continuing the work of current HART group member Ross Petersen and former member Lexie Wilson on the development of a software package in the R programming language. This package shall be used for the extraction, processing, and calculation of aerosol optical depth from raw Multifilter Rotating Shadowband Radiometer (MFRSR) data.

In addition to my work in the HART group, I also advocate for science education. I am currently the Director of the PROMISE South Salt Lake Science Fridays program in the American Chemical Society Student Chapter (ACSSC) at the University of Utah. This program brings untraditional, hands-on science lessons to Title I schools and refugee communities. I am also the ACSSC's Director of Laboratory Inventory and Organization.
