Name: | Picacho Peak hike |
|
Description: | Picacho Peak is located along I-10 about half way between Phoenix and Tucson in a state park of the same name. A decent camping spot ($12 in 2003), though the freeway and rail tracks are close, so it's noisy. The hike climbs about 1500 ft to the peak, at some places with help of steel ropes. Though the rangers say it's 4 hours, it took me 2.5 hrs with 30 min stop on the top. Definitely worth doing if camping in the state park. | |
