| Description: | We rode this from Navajo Lake lodge where we stayed. To avoid initial climb to Navajo Peak, we rode through Dry Valley to Cascade Falls. Here we hopped on the Rim and rode to Pink Cliffs. Here Brian broke his carbon handlebars and majority of the group decided it's time to turn around. I went further and made it all the way to Strawberry Point. Two surprises here, one was that the last section from Strawberry road crossing involved quite a bit of climbing. For some reason, I thought it will be downhill. Second was the spectacular view from the Point. That made the suffering worthwile. Of course, the suffering was just beginning since there was a lot of climbing from Strawberry Road to Pink Cliffs, and even more after Cascade Falls. But, I made it back in one piece long enough before the sunset. Overall a spectacular ride on a great singletrack. | |
