| Description: | A monday post-rain ride in Sonoma County. We stayed three nights in Motel 6 at the north end of Petaluma, and, reserved one day for a ride east of the town. The area around Petaluma is not that heavily populated and there are some not too busy country roads that one can take. I found one such a loop online.
We started at our motel and through several city edge streets got to Spring Hill road. This leads west through rolling hills with cow pastures. Then we spent a few miles on more busy Petaluma - Tomales road, fortunately turned off soon to Chileno Valley road, which heads east through a quiet valley. At Helen Puntam regional park we took a path through the park back to Petaluma, and through some streets and paths got back to the hotel. |
