| Description: | Last ride in Vegas before I caught the dreaded cold that lingered for few months. The plan was to ride a loop through the Red Rocks preserve. I took the straightest drive from Luxor on Tropicana Ave to just past I-215, and parked at a shopping mall there. Then followed a trail for a very short time - it just disappeared at the next big road. So. after this experience, I just decided to stick to the roads, and managed to find a series of fairly quiet neighborhood roads to the Red Rocks highway. The highway has a new bike lane all the way to Blue Diamond, which was nice. I turned off to go ride the scenic loop as well, this one is one way road (ca. 10 miles) and not too busy, so, it was good as well. The section on the busy Hwy 160 was fortunately not too long and with a slight downhill. Then followed a return to the car through just being developed neighborhoods - which may stay that way for some time in the current way of things. | |
