Name: | All the goods west of St. George |

Description: | Here's an attempt for a semi-epic that incorporates all the good trails I know of in the area right west of St. George. Started at the Bearclaw Poppy trailhead on the western outskirt of Bloomington and rode the trail to Clavicle Hill and then north to Green Valley. Here I did the race course counter-clockwise and then climbed up to the viewpoint on the end of the cliff to the southwest. Then rode down to Stucki Spring, some of the washes in the area were flowing. Then quick ride west to the high point and as always a blast riding down. At Clavicle Hill I took the "Micro Loop" down to Curly Hollow road and on that up and on a series of dirt roads through Blakes Lambing Grounds to a turnoff to a dirt road that leads to "invisible road", which is only on the map, barely visible on the ground. This leads to the rim of Virgin River gorge, down along that on a rocky ATV track. Climb out of the valley on the other end is a hike, as the dirt road is very loose due to the motors. Then a series of ups and downs all the way back to the Bloomington trailhead. Overall a good ride, with combination of nice singletrack and great views, something to keep in mind for future visits. | |
