| Description: | First ride in Colorado Springs from Andy and Beth's house. They live right on the Mesa trail, that I took to Garden of Gods park. Only small portion of the park is open for bicycles, there is a network of short trails, mostly singletrack, that I rode. Then I hopped onto Foothill trail that changes to bike lane on 31st street, and continued all the way to Red Rock Canyon. This is a preserve that has lots of dirt road and doubletracks, and, several good, recently built, singletracks. Then I rode up on section 16 connection to Inteman trail. This was the best part of the ride - nice raw singletrack up in the hills. Then I missed the trail going to Bear Creek park, and, instead, went down on raw singletrack on a small canyon bottom and ended up back in Red Rock Canyon. Then rode on 26th St. to Bear Creek, and down series of multiuse trails to the center of the town, and, back to the house. |
