Description: | A traditional Saturday advanced ride on Dinotrax is the Elk Meadow loop on the northeastern Uinta foothills. We again rode to the trailhead from the lodge, about 10 mile ride, mostly on pavement. The first part of the ride is an uneventful dirt road descent to Deep Creek and then climb to Ute Mountain. Then follows a rocky descent to Browne Lake and 5 miles of several ups and downs on Carter Trail. The infamous rocky ascent up a creek bed was this year totally unrideable, probably due to the high spring runoff. Then follows series of rocky descents back to the trailhead. |
