Name: | Emigration Canyon to Canyons and Millcreek |
|
Description: | Started up Emigration Canyon road. Turned off to Killyon Canyon. Lower part of the trail which was at few spots washed out by the creek was rerouted. However, there was no work on the upper part, which has 1-3 ft deep ruts. So, I walked a lot of it. Then things got better. Rode down to Affleck Park, and Mormon Trail to Little Dell reservoir. Then down to the Parley's golf course, and up Alexander Hollow to Parley's summit. From here up the dirt road, which is pretty washed out as well (but rideable) to Moose Hollow trail and down to Jeremy Ranch. From here I hopped onto 24/7 trail. The climb up was not too bad, downhill at the end was good. Then on the road to the Canyons, where I stopped for quick lunch at 7-11. Then I took Holly's uphill trail about 1/2 way up and then to Ambush trail to the midmountain. Ambush trail is quite nice and should be a rip to go down. There were quite some sheep in the area, but some sheep dressed in cotton were also in other areas, mostly in the upper Millcreek. These sheep are characterized by standing in the middle of the trail and refusing to move off when someone's passing. Anyway, from Midmountain I rode up to the crest, which is only about 500 vertical feet from the Midmountain. Then down Millcreek via Big Water trail and Pipeline. Pipeline was quite nice, because it was very uncrowded due to hot afternoon. | |
