Name:Alta wildflowers and the Crest
Description:I joined Shelly's family on a wildflower hike in Alta and took advantage of the effortless elevation gain to get some free gravity bucks.
First we walked the Cecret Lake trail to the lake, and then more west to the Sugarloaf lift road. Here I took off and rode down back to Albion Basin and then up to Catherine Pass towards Brighton. The Catherine Pass trail is nice, I only pushed three short sections. Conversely, the trail going down to Brighton has numerous rock gardens, so, there was more pushing. I made it to Brighton at about the same time as the guys took off from Alta. From Brighton on, it was all joy, though. With still relatively fresh legs, it was a breeze to climb up to the Crest, and, then followed miles of smooth singletracks, with wildflowers in the full bloom all around and moist spruce forest smell on the descent to Millcreek. The Pipeline was getting hot, but, not too bad. Overall, a great ride.
