Description:	Bogus Basin is Boise's local ski resort, with base at about 6300 ft and top of ca. 7550 ft at the summit of Shaffer Butte. My plan for Sunday morning was just to ride up to the top of pavement at a ski lodge at about 6700 ft. I sgtarted a bit before 9am and it was already getting hot. The first few thousand vertical feet of climb are always the hottest since the road is widely open. This time a breeze came at about 4500 ft and from then on it was not too bad. At the ski lodge, I did not feel totally wasted, so, I decided to try to ride to the top of the mountain, which was not too logistically difficult - follow the dirt road up. I did take one wrong turn which made me going down for a little bit but I soon regained the right direction. Then I rode down the dirt road on the other side and in the saddle to the south of Shaffer Butte found a singletrack that I took all the way down to the base. Next time I'll have to take a map to find a more optimal way down with respect of the downhill singletrack length, but, this time it was not all that bad either. Then I just followed the road down to Boise, it was fairly hot in town so I was glad to just be back in the end.
