| Description: | Gary and I finally found a weekend when both of us were in town so we did a classic ride together. We met at the I-80 bridge a bit after 8am and then rode on Wasatch Blvd. to Big Cottonwood. Followed a standard climb with standard stop at Solitude to get some extra water. Then we rode to the Wasatch Crest and on it, which was great as the weather was perfect. Since it was an odd day, we could not drop down to Millcreek so we dropped east to Midmountain and continued north to its terminus at Pinebrook. Here I showed Gary a secret road that winds through the neighborhoods and Toll Canyon to get to Parley's summit. There we had a second refuel stop a the gas station. Followed a descent on I-80 to Lambs Canyon, and another new piece for Gary going through the golf course to the frontage road - which avoids another 3 or so miles of the freeway. Then we just braved the hot climb to Emigration summit and a breezy ride down the canyon home. | |
