Description: | Wednesday was a good time to wrap up the series of loops originating from my home village - the concrete foundation of my dad's garage corner needed some more curing before they start building the new wall.
It was a bit cloudier and more humid but still quite warm. I rode towards Lipuvka through Ujezd, having to spend ca. 2 km on very busy main highway going north from Brno. It was not too much fun, though the traffic was bearable. Turning off towards Blansko made the things only a bit better, the road is still quite busy. A relief was finally brought by turning south and following the Svitava river valley on a bike/ped only road to Adamov. The valley is quite pictoresque with steep wooded hills on both side of the river. I followed the valley more south to Bilovice and here I turned east and up the valley ending up in Babice, right back over the river. Then followed a short downhill to Krtiny which has a massive baroque church and a small castle. Then I went down wooded Krtiny Valley towards Adamov, here are numerous caves (it's part of the Moravian Karst), I stopped by cave Vypustek, which one can your, and cave Byci Skala, which is famous for its prehistoric excavations. Then a bit further down is a historic iron furnace, built in 1746. Then I went up to Olomucany and then to Klepacov, a village over Blansko valley. Then dropped down to Blansko and shortly checked out the center, including the high school where I went. Then it was just a quick ride home through Dolni Lhota (taking foto of the pub where we had our wedding) and Jestrebi. |
