| Description: | Day 1 of our quick trip to the south along with Gary, Sharon and Lee. On Gooseberry we met with Kevin and Keith, then were joined by Cimarron, Bryce, Sara and David. Our large pack of 10 then departed the campsite and doodled around the south rim taking ample shade breaks. We picked up the pace a bit on the way back through North Rim and part of the Practice loop. The sun was quite strong when we got back to the campsite at 1.30pm so we ended up just sitting in the shade and rehydrating the rest of the day. Only after the sun went low we dared to start the fire and I had everyone to roast their Siegfrieds sausage on the stick which was, as usuall, an instant hit. | |
