| Description: | Day 2 of our tour had us heading mostly east. It was the warmest day of our trip with high in the upper 70s and sunny skies. I was already sweating as we were heading out of Karlshamn along a beautiful coastal road through the recreational part of Karlshamn. A bit further on there was mostly decidious forest with the sea occasionally peeking out. Then we turned north and away from the sea for a while and rode through a mix for forests and farmland, paralleling the busy E22 freeway on what seemed to be the old road. Just before Brakne-Hoby we turned south again and headed back to the sea. The relief here was relatively hilly, not steep hills but constant small ups and downs. Although we rode close to the sea, we only saw it here and there because of the forest. As we were nearing to Ronneby hamn (Ronneby harbor), there were some more houses and small villages. Then we headed on a bike path along the river north to Ronneby. The center lies on a small hill above the river, we got there just around noon and had a lunch at the town square. Here we witnessed an interesting gathering of seniors, many of them with walkers, who seemed to be waiting for something. It turns out they were waiting for a fish truck which caused much of excitement when it came. After lunch, we checked out the town church, on the top of the hill, and then headed east out of town to Johannishus. Here we in vain searched for advertised castle which turns out to be a few miles north of town. After Johannishus the road passed through a large forested area which contained some sort of preserve. Then we crossed E22 again and trough some rolling terrain and mixed farmland and forest arrived to Nattarby, town across the bay from Karlskrona. At a local small boat stop we observed funny traffic sign warning drivers from falling into the water and had the luck of seeing the Axel - passenger boat that goes between Nattarby and Karlskrona. From the town center we followed bike path signs to Karlskrona - a bit off from the Langsparet. This was a new bike path that goes south of E22 through some sort of nature preserve and connects to a bike path going along the main route into Karlskrona. The town itself lies partly on the mainland and partly on several islands of which the southernmost one, called Troso, is the town center. It took us a good 1/2 hour to get through the town to the center but it was relatively stress free since we just followed the bike path signs to the center and the bike path mostly paralleled the main highway. Druhý den naší cyklotrasy jsme putovali na východ. Byl to nejteplejší den z celé cesty, s teplotami nad 25C a slunným počasím. Potil jsem se už ráno když jsme na výjezdu z Karlshamnu projíždeli rekreační oblastí která vede podél pobřeží. Kousek dál bylo více lesů, převážně listnatých, a moře bylo vidět jen občas. Pak trasa zahnula na sever a střídaly se lesy a farmy. Pak jsme zase jeli k východu podél dálnice E22 po původní hlavní silnici, která teď byla skoro bez provozu díky dálnici. Před Brakne-Hoby jsme se zase stočili k moři a jeli přes mírně zvlněnou krajinu po vedlejších silnicích kde jsme potkali jen sem tam nějaký traktor. Jak jsme se přiblížili k Ronnebyhamnu (přístav Ronneby), tak osídlení zhoustlo. Přejeli jsme po mostě ústí řeky Ronneby a podél ní jsme po stezce jeli na sever do města Ronneby. Zde jsme na náměstí kolem poledního poobědvali a byli jsme svědky zajímavé události. Na trhu na náměstí byla velká skupina důchodců kteří na něco čekali. Ukázalo se že to byl stánek s rybami který záhy přijel a způsobil menší pozdvižení. Po obědě jsme si prohlédli kostel na kopci hned nad náměstím a pak jsme zamířili dál k východu. Ve městečku Johannishus jsme marně hledali hrad, později se ukázalo že je několik km severně od obce. Pak jsme pomalu klesali přes zalesněnou krajinu jakési rezervace, přejeli zase E22 a po zvlněné krajině s lesy a farmami dojeli do Nattarby, což je město přes zátoku od Karlskrony. Zde nás na lodní zastávce pobavila značka varující motoristy před pádem do vody a měli jsme to štěstí vidět Axela - loď která vozí lidi mezi Nattarby a Karlskronou. Z Nattarby jsme opustili Cykelsparet a místo toho následovali šipky cyklotrasy do Karlskrony která vede po nové stezce přes přírodní rezervaci a po jižní straně E22. Vlastní město leží částečně na pevnině a částečně na ostrovech, centrum je na nejjižnějším ostrově Trosso. Trvalo nám ještě asi půl hodiny než jsme dojeli do centra, ale bylo to celkem jednoduché protože cyklostezka vedla převážně podél hlavní silnice. | |
