Name: | South Boulder Creek to Boulder Creek to Betasso Preserve |
|
Description: | A Boxing Day afternoon ride in Boulder, trying to take an advantage of one more day of warm weather. Started at Lorrie's place, found South Boulder Creek Path, which is partly gravel, partly concrete. Then turned west to Boulder Creek, observed a prarie dog collony and rode through Boulder to Boulder Canyon. The path goes 2.25 miles up the canyon and ends. Hopped on the road and went up a few miles to a turnoff to Betasso Preserve. Here rode the 3 mile loop, which is 1/2 singletrack and 1/2 dirt road. The singletrack section was downhill and not too bad. After finishing the loop, turned to Boulder Cyn. Link trail downhill back to the highway. There was one steep rocky section, but, apart from there the trail was in good shape. A quick ride down the canyon back to Boulder to meet with the rest of the gang wrapped up the ride. | |
