| Description: | Another good ride out of John and Cindy's house. The plan was to ride up the service road in the wash towards Dixie Mine trail and then check out the new Saguaro trail. But, the Thompson peak on the horizon was too big of a magnet so I decided to head there first. The road turned very steep but fortunately it was well packed dirt with concrete surface at the steepest sections, which was most of the climb. It climbs 1500 ft in under 2 miles. After some hanging out on the top I went down, which was a good exercise of keeping butt behind the saddle. It was getting late and colder so I decided to just head down Dixie Mine trail and down Golden Eagle Blvd back to the house. |
