The following is weather data collected from the station located atop the William Browning Building on the campus of the University of Utah.
The records are kept in Julian Days with the first being on day 162 of 1992. This corresponds to June 12, 1992. There is also a data gap in 1994 between day 158 and 274 due to equipment malfunction.
In the "Archived Daily Data" section, high temperature and low temperature is given along with the time of day the temperatures were reached. Amount of precipitation is given, but the rain bucket is not heated. Therefore, any precipitation that is snow might not be accurate. The snow could melt the next day and record as precip for the next day, or simply blow out of the rain bucket. Starting on day 270 of 1995 maximum wind gust and time the gust was reached is also recorded.
The "Climatological Tables" section contains information on averages, deviations from average, and records for temperatures and precipitation. All data has been filtered unless otherwise noted to remove much of the noise due to the limited number of years of data and produce a data set which is more representative of the "actual climate."
The "Graphical Data" section contains gif images of various climatological data.
Notes: (1) Record temperatures and precip in these tables are listed along with the year they occurred. In case of a tie, the most recent year is listed. (2) The "Average Deviation" statistic used in some of these tables is similar to standard deviation, but is actually the "average difference from average." (3) All temperatures are in degrees Fahrenheit, all wind speeds are in miles per hour, and all times are in 24-hour local time.
