1. The hype surrounding El Nino and La Nina has been relentless during the past couple years. Using resources on the Web, find an article and discuss briefly the economic impacts of El Nino OR La Nina on national or international economy. Discuss briefly whether the argument for the economic impact of El Nino or La Nina has been made. Is there any scientific linkage between the impact and the ENSO phenomenon? The articles you find on the web will most likely be politically driven, keep that in mind.

2. Find an article about El Nino in a peer reviewed journal. Here are some examples: Journal of Climate, Monthly Weaher Review, Journal of Atmospheric Sciences, Journal of Applied Meteorology, Journal of Physical Oceanography, Journal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology. Please submit the title, journal, date, and abstract of the article.
