IPEX Weather Briefing. Assignment 6. Due October XX
Purpose:
to attend an VTMX weather briefing and evaluate the information presented at the briefing.
This assignment is due 1 week after you attend an VTMX briefing.
The briefings begin promptly at 11AM in 802 WBB.
Review the guidance provided by the forecast team at LAtest Forecast .
Send a short email to me that
contains the following:
- what was the current state of the atmosphere over Utah?
- what large-scale factors are affecting the weather?
- what mesoscale factors are important over northern Utah?
- what is the forecast for northern Utah?
- What are the key issues discussed by the briefers on the large-scale?
- What are the key issues discussed by the briefers on the mesoscale?
- What are the key issues for the long-range outlook?
- evaluation of weather briefing information
Using info available on the web page the next day, how was the briefers' forecast?
- were conditions favorable for an IOP and did those conditions verify?
- did the briefers capture the critical issues of the forecast problem?
