Rawinsonde Observations. Assignment 3. Due February XX
Purpose: to
participate in a launch of a radiosonde and analyze the subsequent sounding.
This assignment is due 1 week after you participate in an IPEX radiosonde launch.
As one of the launches is underway, copy down the 10-second averages of wind, temperature, and dewpoint temperature as a function of pressure.
Plot the sounding on a skew-t diagram.
Identify cloud layers (dewpoint depression 5C or less)
Identify absolutely stable layers (if any) and other thermal structures.
Identify wind maxima and changes in wind direction with height.
Discuss how your sounding relates to the weather taking placve during the IOP.
