IPEX Weather Briefing. Assignment 5. Due February XX
Purpose:
to attend an IPEX weather briefing and evaluate the information presented at the briefing.
This assignment is due 1 week after you attend an IPEX briefing.
The briefings begin promptly at noon each day at the Forecast Office.
Review the guidance provided by the forecast team at Daily Weather Forecast and Outlook.
Send a short email to me that
contains the following:
- what was the current state of the atmosphere over Utah?
- what large-scale factors are affecting the weather?
- what mesoscale factors are important over northern Utah?
- what is the forecast for northern Utah?
- What are the key issues discussed by the briefers on the large-scale?
- What are the key issues discussed by the briefers on the mesoscale?
- What are the key issues for the long-range outlook?
- evaluation of weather briefing information

- did lake-effect ppt and lightning outlook verify?
- what were precipitation amounts like at the point QPF points?
- did the briefers capture the critical issues of the forecast problem?
