Please report forecast elements in 1-hour increments for today and tonight 2-hour increments for tomorrow. Its OK if you wait for the 12z sounding data before finalizing the forecast, but please post the forecast by 7:30am. Please review feedback from past few days Spot Forecasts: RH has been consistently lower than forecast. Please address the following in your discussion: 1. Please include a fog potential statement for Thursday night/Friday morning. NOTE: fog was observed at KPQL for most of the early morning hours. 2. Wind direction is critical for this burn unit, as it is adjacent to a heavily traveled road. According to 0417 PointAndClick Forecast for 30.46N 88.67W, wind will shift to SSE at 2pm, which is 2 hours later than a similar shift was forecasted for yesterday. This would give us enough time to complete the burn with easterly and SE winds. Please take a close look at the wind direction and let us know if and when it will go SSE or S, and for how long. Also...we noticed the Transport Wind holds the easterly component even longer than the surface wind. This would be a big help, if accurate. NOTE: yesterday wind did shift to South beginning at 2pm, as you advised in your discussion. 3. SAFETY ISSUE: What are the chances of lightning occurring at the prescribed burn site today NOTE: 0417 PointAndClick Forecast says there is a chance of thunder beginning at 1pm, and 0320 Forecast Discussion says chances of showers are increasing.
